What names would you use for boys if you used unisex names for girls?

Say you had girls with unisex names such as Mason, Reese, Cameron, Hayden, Linden, Presley, Noah etc. Then what would you name boys? Because in my opinion i would want really boyish names so that you could tell who the boys were from the girls. What do you think? What would you name brothers to those names? my first thought was Lachlan. but i dont actually think it matches the unisex names. im starting to think maybe you can only use unisex names for girls if they dont have brothers!!

jorja :)|||Noah is not and never was a unisex name, it's a boy's name. Incidentally why must the girls have unisex names anyway? You seem to want the boys to have reasonable names, why not the girls too?


Of course we all follow fashion to some extent in naming our children (Elizabeth was highly unusual until the Middle Ages although we think of it as ancient), but making up names and/or idiosyncratic spellings really needs to be treated with caution. These are people we are naming , they will not always be babies , so names that are really diminutives already , like Molly and Bobby etc don't travel well over the years. And creations like Briella and Shyleigh and Jaysen and Kenadie and Jaxson, and ( sorry) Jorja, well, these brand your child with , frankly, a loser's name.|||Poor girls.

Which is harder to pick boys names or girls names?

I think good boy names are hard to find.|||Well yeah, good boy names are hard to find but when you find them, its usually pretty easy to pick from the 10 or so names you could possibly imagine giving to your child.


Girls names however, there are tons of cute and pretty names to choose from with all different kinds of spellings that dont make them too tacky.. ( some get tacky..) so its harder to narrow down to that one name you like..


Like for my sons, we had a list of about 10 names we were considering. With our daughter, the list started out with like 60 names... lol talk about narrowing it down..|||I think its girls. Me and my boyfriend sat down and thought of good names for our baby before we knew whether it was a boy or a girl and boys were really easy for us.|||For my wife and me, boys names. We still haven't agreed on a name for a boy. Thank God the baby is a girl. haha|||I would agree with you, boy names.|||For us it was girls, there's not that many girl names I like, but tons that I hate

There is a name in the US that sounds like Caoimhe. It's Kiva, which is an underground holy place used by the Anasazi (No one knows why or where they left, but the pueblo was obviously vacated in a mysterious instant.) There are a number of them, but the one closest to my home had Bubonic Plague warnings. (There are plague cases every year.) Anyway, using Kiva as a name seemed both wrong and unlucky. So, I tend to avoid that sound from habit-LOL|||I can see why you have a dilemma. They both sound nice with the boys name, but i kind of like Seamus and Aoibhin. Aoibhin sounds more elelgnant and mysterious to me which i like. Good luck!|||Those are both good! I love the way Caoimhe looks with Séamus, but to pair it up, I'd have to choose Aoibhín to go with Séamus because they sound better together. I hope this helps|||Seamus %26amp; Caoimhe!!

What do you think about naming both boys names ending in 'son'?

We have a little boy we named Hudson and I am expecting again and we are just trying to decide on a name if it's another boy. We like the names Lawson and Lawton- what do you think of those names? Also if we do use Lawson is it too similar sounding to Hudson?

Lawson and Lawton I think would just cause a bunch of headaches after awhile especially when they are old enough to start gettng phone calls from friends or girls .|||I personally don't like the duplicate "son." Meilir - ei sounds like the french 'Eui' sort of, about half way between 'Eye' and 'Ay (like hay)' 'R' is always 'trilled' so May/My-Li-R|||I tried googling, but got no luck. I'd say they're pronounced Id-on and Mee-lerr. Sorry if this is no help, just saw you've had no replies so I tried :P
